By becoming an active member of the League of Mexican American Women, you join a multigenerational community rooted in Latina leadership and united by a commitment to education, cultural pride, leadership development, and service.

Members have opportunities to build meaningful relationships, strengthen their leadership skills, and make a direct impact in the community. Through committee service, members support the League’s scholarship and leadership programs, cultural activities, fundraising events, and community outreach. A central part of our mission is helping students pursue higher education and creating opportunities for women to lead and thrive.

Ways to Get Involved

Committee service is one of the most meaningful ways to participate in the League. Members may contribute their interests, experience, and talents through the following [standing committees]:

Special Committees

To address emerging needs or support time-limited projects, the President and/or Executive Board may appoint ad hoc committees. These may include:

• Brunches, receptions, and special events

• Public relations

• Programs

• Leadership and education

• Nominations

• Bylaws review

• Anniversary celebrations and other special initiatives

General Membership Meetings

General membership meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month, unless otherwise announced. Meeting details and schedule updates are shared with members via email in advance.
